(2-Pyridyl)acetone-promoted Cu-catalyzed O-arylation of phenols with aryl iodides, bromides, and chlorides.

Employing (2-pyridyl)acetone as a new supporting ligand, the copper-catalyzed coupling reactions of aryl chlorides, aryl bromides, and aryl iodides with various phenols successfully proceeded in good yields under mild conditions. This reaction displays great functional groups compatibility and excellent reactive selectivity.

Efficient copper-catalyzed coupling of aryl chlorides, bromides and iodides with aqueous ammonia.

The copper(I)-catalyzed synthesis of a range of primary anilines from electron-rich and electron-deficient aryl halides including aryl chlorides has been achieved with aqueous ammonia, avoiding the need for inert atmosphere, expensive catalysts and ligands, anhydrous solvents, and additional base or other additives.

Copper/N,N-dimethylglycine catalyzed goldberg reactions between aryl bromides and amides, aryl iodides and secondary acyclic amides.

An efficient and general copper-catalyzed Goldberg reaction at 90-110 °C between aryl bromides and amides providing the desired products in good to excellent yields has been developed using N,N-dimethylglycine as the ligand. The reaction is tolerant toward a wide range of amides and a variety of functional group substituted aryl bromides. In addition, hindered, unreactive aromatic and aliphatic...

Copper-catalyzed coupling of alkylamines and aryl iodides: an efficient system even in an air atmosphere.

[reaction: see text] A mild method for the copper-catalyzed amination of aryl iodides is reported. This operationally simple C-N bond-forming protocol uses CuI as the catalyst and ethylene glycol as ligand in 2-propanol. A variety of functionalized aryl iodides as well as several amines were efficiently coupled using this method. This catalytic amination procedure is relatively insensitive to m...

Nickel-Catalyzed Decarboxylative Cross-Coupling of Perfluorobenzoates with Aryl Halides and Sulfonates

A Ni-catalyzed method for the coupling of perfluorobenzoates with aryl halides and pseudohalides is described. Aryl iodides, bromides, chlorides, triflates, and tosylates participate in these transformations to afford the products in good yields. Penta-, tetra-, and trifluorinated biaryl compounds are obtained using these newly developed Ni-catalyzed decarboxylative cross-coupling reactions.
